DMG PermaCem 2.0 Smartmix DMG PermaCem 2.0 is a universal, dual-cure, self-adhesive composite luting cement designed for the permanent cementation of a wide range of indirect restorations. By incorporating a newly developed adhesive monomer formula, PermaCem 2.0 delivers an exceptional bond across all substrates, including zirconium oxide, without the need for separate enamel or dentin bonding. As a true single-step cement, PermaCem 2.0 eliminates the need for etching, saving chairside time and significantly reducing post-operative sensitivity. Its exceptionally low water sorption enhances long-term reliability and esthetics, while its excellent flow under pressure ensures a thin, uniform cement layer with fast and easy excess removal. Indications Permanent cementation of inlays, onlays, crowns and bridges Cementation of metal, metal alloy, metal-ceramic and composite restorations All-ceramic restorations including zirconia, alumina, lithium disilicate and feldspathic ceramics Cementation of fiber-reinforced root posts Permanent cementation of crowns and bridges on titanium or zirconia implant abutments Contraindications Preparations with insufficient retention (e.g. veneers) Patients with known allergies to any ingredients Direct pulp capping Interactions Do not use with eugenol-containing materials (e.g. temporary cements or root canal fillings) Ensure all temporary cement residues are completely removed prior to cementation Avoid contamination of tooth and restoration surfaces before cementation Advantages Exceptional bond strength to zirconium and all substrates High compressive strength (249 MPa) for long-term reliability Outstanding radiopacity for easy marginal assessment and diagnosis Excellent shade stability and esthetics Single-step application with no etching required Reduced risk of cementation errors Exceptional flowability under pressure with drip-resistant handling Fast and easy excess removal Low water sorption for improved durability and esthetics Shorter appointments and increased patient comfort Features One of the strongest self-adhesive bonds to zirconia available Mechanical and chemical adhesion Outstanding bond across all restorative substrates No etching or separate bonding steps required Easy cleanup and convenient working times Composition Barium glass filler in a Bis-GMA-based resin matrix Pigments, additives and catalysts Filler content: 69 wt% (51 vol%), particle size 0.02 – 3.0 μm Key Specifications Removal of excess (without light curing): 0:30 – 1:00 min Optional pre-light curing for excess removal: 1 – 2 seconds Maximum intraoral curing time (incl. mixing): 7 minutes Optional light curing time: minimum 20 seconds Minimum light intensity: 400 mW/cm² (≈450 nm) Packaging 1 × 9 g Smartmix Syringe 15 × Smartmix Tips (Standard) 5 × Smartmix Tips (Endo M)
